Daylilies are hardy in zones 3-9 and can be grown throughout much of the United States. They grow best when planted in fertile, well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade. Before planting daylilies, amend the soil by mixing in compost. Dig a hole deep enough to accommodate the roots without bending them. Roots should be just below the soil surface with the crown at the soil level. Space them about 24" apart. After planting, water well.
